Lavender: The Color of Relaxation, Youthfulness, and Optimism.

Lavender: The Color of Relaxation, Youthfulness, and Optimism.

Lavender is a soft shade of purple. It communicates beauty, grace, elegance, and femininity. It evokes calmness and tranquillity.

Many women are afraid to play with colors and many times relay on wearing neutrals instead of having fun with many beautiful color combinations.

There are many ways to pair colors. A color wheel is the perfect tool to learn how to do so. Complimentary colors are opposite to each other on the color wheel. Like purple and yellow are a good example of it. Commonly the complimentary colors have a tendency to emphasize the opposite color creating a vibrant effect.

Analogous colors are colors that are next to each other on the color wheel. They create a serene and comfortable look. For example, pair lavender with pink.  Also lavender looks great with a green, coral red, pale grey, white, and of course denim.

Lavender looks best on people with light cool tones. These muted hues won’t compete with your skin. If you have a darker skin tone like me, wear lavender on your bottom and avoid wearing it too close to your face.
