Make a Mother’s Day Gift for Mom and Grandma

It’s always a little extra nice when you make something special with the kids for Mom and Grandma for Mother’s Day. Here are some ideas that Mom and Grandma will cherish forever…

1. Make a card with your children’s handprints on it. Then once the paint has dried, with a black fine point marker, write their names and ages under their handprints.

2. Give a framed picture of the kids. Put the kids in their Sunday best, find a nice outdoor grassy area, sit them down and take a picture. Go to Micheals with your weekly 40% off coupon and choose a nice frame. Print the picture (hint: if you don’t have a printer at home, you can upload the picture to Target’s photo department and then go pick it up when you are out getting the frame 🙂

3. Make a video. Have a video camera or a great smart phone? Make a special home movie of the kids talking about how much they love mom or grandma and either email it or email it. Trust me… they will love this gift and probably watch it over and over! Hint: If you use iMovie, you can add music, transitions, a frame, and other fun things. Let the kids help design the video extras too!

4. Design a t-shirt. Go to Michaels and pick up an adult-sized t-shirt and some paints. If you really want to get fancy, you can also grab some iron-on rhinestones for a little dazzle. Let the kids do as they wish or help them out and make the t-shirt pictured above. Once it has dried, add a few rhinestones and presto… cherished Mother’s Day gift!
