TravelingMom Brings Influencers and Daym Drops Together Downtown Detroit for TLE Detroit
I’m a Michigan native and Detroit is my city.  I love any reason I can get to go downtown whether it be for a fashion show, a lunch, a charity or spontaneous plans.  I’m not one of the suburban moms that is afraid of Detroit.  I love Detroit and embrace it’s hidden gems almost every week and I have for years.  That’s why when I was asked by TravelingMom to attend an influencer event featuring Daymon Patterson aka Daym Drops downtown for TLE Detroit I quickly said yes without hesitation. Daym Drops is a YouTube sensation and one of Rachel Ray’s foodie correspondents. He’s also been seen on Dr. Oz and he has his own show called Best Daym Takeout on the Travel Channel. He’s known for his fun, descriptive food reviews via YouTube and has an honest voice brands enjoy. Aside from all of that, he’s funny. Really funny.

TLE Detroit was a travel and lifestyle event that took place in the grand ballroom of the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Detroit Downtown – Fort Shelby. The hotel is located on W. Lafayette downtown Detroit and is only one block away from a Detroit People Mover substation.

Upon my arrival, I received an informative tour of the VIP Suites (my room choice when I stay here) and the rest of the property. I was impressed with the suite size and the layout of the room. The bathroom and the living area were separate from the bedroom itself and was vary spacious. It resembled much like an apartment.
We also toured the gym, the lobby, restaurant called MotorCity Kitchen, the hotel bar called Round Bar and the front of the building.  This hotel has come a long way throughout the years and the remodel is quite nice.

DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Detroit and TravelingMom also offered attendees a live appetizer tutorial given by executive chef Eric Hurd, who gave us a super simple, yet yummy Pork Belly with Sweet Potato Puree recipe and a free taste.

Pork Belly is typically a popular find on a menu when eating out these days and the sweet potato puree with pepitas was a delicious addition to the dish. Watching Eric Hurd create this in minutes was fun to watch.  Afterwards, lunch was served and a motivational speech given by Daym Drops himself was the highlight of the afternoon.
