We visited the California Pizza Kitchen at The Mall at Partridge Creek to see what the new Next Chapter Menu was all about. While most of us tried something off the the new menu, my son went with an old standby: pepperoni pizza. The Next Chapter Menu contains seasonal meals that change throughout the year.
The restaurant was really hopping and happy the night we were there, even though it was raining outside it was warm and cozy inside. We were seated at a nice booth and ordered a few drinks to get things started. I have to say that nearly every drink on the menu sounded interesting and delicious to me – but we whittled it down to a Blueberry Ginger Smash and a California Crush, both great choices.
Some of the new Next Chapter Menu items include Sunny-Side-Up Bacon and Potato Pizza, Brussels and Bacon Flatbread and Harvest Kale Salad. We chose two items from the new menu: I went with the Hearth Roasted Halibut (wild caught Alaskan Halibut) with grilled asparagus and butternut squash farro with baby kale and loved it. I have never had farro and really liked the squash combination. My husband chose the Roasted Garlic Chicken with seasonable vegetables. We both really like this dish too. It had a great lemony zip to it.
We learned that CPK offer’s a Menu Adventure Guarantee – which means if you try something new when you visit and don’t like it, you are able to choose something else at no charge. You can’t go wrong with that policy.
We finished the meal off with an outstanding dessert with a very low-key name that was recommended by our wonderful waitress (Thank You Caitlin!). It was simply called Butter Cake and was served with whipped cream and ice cream. The cake was served warm and it was delicious. Just look at it!
