Pull out your bell bottoms and platform heels, The Salvation Army Southeast Michigan Adult Rehabilitation Center is hosting a special 1970s-themed vintage sale and event at the nonprofit’s Sally’s on 4th Boutique in Royal Oak.

Just in time for the Woodward Dream Cruise, vintage collectors will enjoy great finds and incredible deals on a collection of retro clothing, housewares, furniture and more. As an added bonus, patrons dressed in 1970s-inspired clothing will receive 50 percent off their entire purchase and have a chance to win $100 in store credit.

 

WHEN: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9

CONTEST: Patrons who dress in 1970s apparel and have their picture taken in-store will be entered for a chance to win a $100 store credit, valid at the Royal Oak Boutique now through Dec. 31, 2014. The winner will be selected and announced on the SalArmyThrift.com Facebook page on Monday, Aug. 11, 2014.

Need a few tips for dressing like one of Charlie’s Angels? Royal Oak Boutique Manager Mary Lou Lantz offered up these tips. She says to think:

Flare-legged or tight-fitted pants

Mini or ankle-length skirts

Platform shoes and clunky heels

Polyester and plaid fabrics
