The Robot Garage is a family-owned place for kids of all ages to gather and do all things LEGO and Robotics. I recently attended a media event at The Robot Garage to find out more about them.
The day we were there the summer camps were in full swing. A group of kids were in the middle of building “Dancing Witches” — LEGO figures that were computer-controlled.
It was really interesting to see how each piece of art was unique. I loved seeing how proud the kids are with their creations! These kids are ACTIVELY taking part in planning out villages and then building them to scale – all out of LEGO’s.
The kids are also using robotics to make them creations move!! What a great learning experience.
The Robot Garage is generously offering Detroit Mommy readers a discount code that will save you $50 on some of the regularly priced July Camps! Just use the promo-code “mediamoms” when you register. The Robot Garage hosts various activities including:
Camps and Classes on LEGO building and Robotics
I’ve been told the camps are the kind that kids want to come early for and leave late! The camps run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the summer. Kids bring two snacks and their lunch, with pizza on Fridays.
S.T.E.M. Field Trips
Two hours of fun in a private garage bay with dedicated staff and a birthday robot!
The Drop-In Room
The drop-in room is huge and full of all the building supplies you could ever need. It was designed with families in mind. Drop-in is offered six days a week for up to two hours ($8)
The Robot Garage now offers Corporate Team Building Events
The front of the store is packed with LEGO sets, Hexbugs, and LEGO Mini-Figs (they sell some the Mini-Figs in packages that you can actually see into! According to my son they have some of the really rare ones….. pricey, but they have them.
The Robot Garage is located in Birmingham at 637 Eton Road. The building sits back a ways for the road so watch for the sign.
