HoneyBaked’s New Recipe Turkey Breast Review

Did you know that The HoneyBaked company’s famous hams have been enjoyed by families for more than 40 years? I honestly cannot remember a holiday without a HoneyBaked ham present! This is one of the reasons I was very anxious to try HoneyBaked’s New Recipe Turkey Breast. Even though I am a stay at home mommy, my life still gets hectic. Sometimes, cooking gets placed on the back burner, since I am very actively involved in my 5 year old daughter’s life, amongst other things I do, so this was the perfect opportunity to allow HoneyBaked to do the cooking!

As I entered the store, in Livonia, Michigan, I noticed all the different choices they had, so my eyes wandered. I received all my goodies and made my way home. One thing I will stress is that the directions for reheating the HoneyBaked’s New Recipe Turkey Breast were lacking. The lady at the store told me one way to reheat, on-line stated another way, and the package had none. I followed the lady’s instructions, which worked better, but I was still a bit confused. Furthermore, to reheat all of the side dishes – the times were completely off. It took much longer to reheat in the microwave which made me a bit frazzled. So, my advice is to allot enough time to reheat everything. However, I will say that the aroma filled the house and made us hungrier.

There are 3 different choices for the turkey.

  • Turkey Breast
  • Roast Turkey with Gravy
  • Whole Turkey

I picked the turkey breast and our family and friends had mixed reviews. My father, husband, and a few co-workers enjoyed the turkey breast, however my mother, daughter,  and I did not. My husband also added as he ate it more, he liked it more. My opinion was that it resembled more of a lunch meat turkey, however the men seemed to really enjoy it. One complaint everyone had, was no gravy came with it. In our personal opinion all turkey should come with gravy. It was stated if you cooked it a certain way, gravy could be produced, however that was not the case. The glaze on the turkey was just like the one you would see on a HoneyBaked Ham. Again, some of us did not like that, but others did.

Next, we were able to try 2 side dishes. This was a tough choice for us, because many of them looked very yummy! Choices are as follows.

  • Broccoli in Light Citrus Sauce
  • Corn in Light Butter Sauce
  • Spinach Artichoke Dip (20 oz.)
  • Sweet Potato Soufflé (32 oz.)
  • Garlic Mashed Potatoes (32 oz.)
  • Potatoes Au Gratin (32 oz.)
  • Dressing (32 oz.)
  • Macaroni & Cheese (32 oz.)
  • Cinnamon Apples (32 oz.)
  • Green Bean Casserole (32 oz.)

We decided to eat the Potatoes Au Gratin and the dressing. One complaint I had here was that only garlic mashed potatoes were available. My 5 year old, won’t touch garlic mashed, but would LOVE regular – so actually this is a suggestion made by her to make that type of potato avaliable! Everyone loved the dressing! It was moist, had great flavor, and was delicious. However, most of us didn’t particularly care for the potatoes. We wished they would have tasted better.

Lastly, onto the desserts. This was a very difficult choice too, since everything sounded fabulous. The choices are as follows.

  • Deluxe Carrot Cake
  • Cinnamon Walnut Coffee Cake
  • Cheesecake Sampler
  • Fresh-Baked Cookies
  • Other Seasonal Offerings (like Pumpkin Pie)

We picked the cheesecake sampler and unanimously agreed that they were all very delicious. The cheesecakes were all fresh and flavorful. Definatelt a hit in and out of our house and plenty to share!

Although, I was not the biggest fan of HoneyBaked’s New Recipe Turkey Breast, others in and out of my house were. I would recommend you try it yourself, to see if you really enjoy it. HoneyBaked was kind enough to offer our readers a $3.00 off coupon, just click HERE to use the coupon. It was great not having to cook, some prices can be located on the HoneyBaked Ham Company’s web site, but I would suggest visiting a location near you, which can also be found on their site. Many of the side dishes & desserts would be a fantastic addition to any Thanksgiving meal you OR someone else may be preparing also. Hopefully, before Thanksgiving you will be visiting a location near you!
