With an early Thanksgiving this year, it seems like Christmas is right around the corner – the big guy in the red suit can’t be far behind. The Rochester Hometown Christmas Parade that’s held on the first Sunday in December is one event that signals the Holiday season is really kicking into gear.  Our house is right on the parade route, so we usually have a casual get together for friends.  I don’t have all my decorations out at this point, but I do like to get into the spirit of the season by putting a few festive things around the house.

I start by coming up with a simple list of food and drinks that we’ll serve that day: Christmas cookies, hot chocolate, coffee, a few appetizers (7 layer Greek dip from Pinterest is my new favorite) and other drinks.  I like to keep it easy and simple so we can all enjoy the day.

Take a look at these items from the Macbeth Collection.  The party tub (retails for $75) will be perfect for filling with bottled drinks and ice this years.  The matching coasters ($38) are fun too (lord help us if someone doesn’t use a coaster – call the police!).

I like the vibrant color of the pieces. They really brighten up the dreary winter weather.  Another nice thing about the Macbeth Collection is that you can order directly from the company, and have your items personalized/customized. They have TON’S of patterns and colors to choose from.  You also get to select your type style and icons or messages that you want on the item.  Their website has endless options for making your party your own!

The product line includes trays, vases, buckets, organizers, office accessories and other items.   I think the trays would make a great way to give a holiday gift of cookies, when the cookies are gone the beautiful tray could be used for other purposes.
