Confession time…I am a huge comic book geek. I haven’t actively collected for awhile, but I still have two large boxes stuffed with polybagged comic books from my junior high through college days.
So I was pretty stoked with the chance to get a pre-order copy of The Amazing Spider-Man AND a digital copy through Vudu.com a full 10-days before the DVD officially came out.
I went to Walmart this weekend to find the DVD, and the trip gave me a good excuse to check out a few toys related to the movie.
I also couldn’t stay away from the new Marvel-branded LEGO sets. It’s a good thing I stay way too busy with work. I could see spending a fair amount of disposable income keeping my inner child happy and giggling.
I found the movie and activated it as soon as I got home. The DVD should be here by November 9th, but I’ll have access to the digital copy on October 30th. I actually preferred the older Sam Raimi version of Spider-Man to this one when I saw it in the theater but my kids both loved the newer one. I may just be a slave to nostalgia. I still love listening to the Ramone’s Spider-Man song.
The pre-order option is great for our family. The kids live with their mom, so I can give them the disc when I get it and we can watch the digital version during the times they stay with me.
We get access to some deleted scenes and other special features to whet our appetites until October 30.
If you’re any kind of super-hero fan, you should check out this offer before all the pre-order packs are gone.
