Here’s an idea for a fun-cation not to far from home. The Soaring Eagle Waterpark in Mt. Pleasant had it‘s grand opening on May 21st and is now open!   The park is located about 2 1/2 hour northwest of the Detroit area.

Some of the fun splash-filled attractions include;  FlowRider (surfing powered by jet engine), Makwa’s Mountain (rock-climbing wall), Biish Falls (play structure), Little Beaver’s Bend (lazy river), Gizi’s Splash and Dunk (acorn/log crossing, basketball, and vortex pool). Otter’s Run (body slide), a giant bucket, and Loon’s Loop (tube slide).  Sounds like fun to me!  There are also hot tubs and a sundeck for soaking up the rays.

The Hotel features 243 guest rooms that include Waterpark passes and free shuttle bus services to all Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan properties, and many more amenities.

Five hour day passes are available and run $25 per person.  Children two and under are free.  The passes are from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 989-817-4801.

This would be a fun option for the family that isn’t too far from home. For more information please visit https://www.soaringeaglewaterpark.com/ – there is a great video that shows all the fun features.
