The tour is part of the DIA’s Inside|Out program, which brings life-sized reproductions ofDetroit-Institute-of-Arts paintings from the DIA’s collection to outdoor locations throughout greater metro Detroit. This year’s program is sponsored by DTE Energy Foundation.

The tour begins at the Rochester Farmer’s Market, located at 3rd and Water Street, at 10 a.m. Avid cyclists can join DIA staff in Romeo, who will leave from the Starkweather Arts Center, 219 N. Main Street, at 9 a.m. to ride to Rochester.

After seeing the seven works in Rochester, cyclists can have lunch in Rochester or head to Romeo by bicycle or car, where the bike tour will resume at 1:30 p.m. at Westview Orchards & Cider Mill, 65075 Van Dyke at 30 Mile Road. The tour will finish at the Starkweather Arts Center by 3:30 p.m.

Inside|Out began last year, and was so popular the DIA expanded its scope. The program celebrates the richness and diversity of the museum’s extensive collection, by connecting with audiences outside the traditional museum walls. The current installations will be on view through August, and a new selection of cities will receive the reproductions from September to November.
