Book Club – Next Book ‘Citizen Girl’

I admit it, I totally judge books by their covers. When I see one that catches my eye, I go for it. And since no one else is recommending books quite yet, your stuck with my picks. Starting Friday, March 4, our book club here at DetroitMommies.com will read and discuss “Citizen Girl” by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus, authors of “Nanny Diaries.”

To book focuses on Girl who recently graduated with a degree in women’s studies with the feeling that she was going to change the world. Her eyes are quickly opened however, that it makes more than a little liberal arts education to land the dream job. After a stint of unemployment, Girl finds a position and her eyes are opened to a different life.

As before, we will post updates to the book weekly and you are invited to leave your comments and thoughts to each discussion. Let’s share the book with each other.

Coming up in April, we will be featuring a certain highly-anticipated book by a highly-read blogger who has an adorable little blond girl. Any guesses? Stay tuned for details.

Until then, let’s finish up “Girls from Ames” and move on to “Citizen Girl.”
