CROSS-COUNTRY SKI LESSONS OFFERED AT INDEPENDENCE OAKS COUNTY PARK

Oakland County Parks and Recreation offers Cross-country Ski Lessons at Independence Oaks County Park starting Jan. 15.
“Winter is often a time when people hibernate indoors, but it’s a beautiful time to get outdoors,” Recreation Program Supervisor Derenda Howard said. “Oakland County Parks and Recreation winter programs are designed to introduce people to the many exciting outdoor activities available during the winter season. We provide tips to make the outdoors more enjoyable.”
Classes are offered from 10 a.m. – noon on Saturday, Jan. 15 and 29; Feb. 12 and 26; March 12 and 26.
Cost is $10/person and includes park entry and ski equipment rental.

Independence Oaks County Park offers more than 14 miles of marked trails for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking and on-leash dog walking. The park also features year-round nature education opportunities at the Wint Nature Center, ice skating and ice fishing.
Independence Oaks County Park is located at 9501 Sashabaw Road in Clarkston.
