This Year’s Lagniappe Kicks Off the Holiday Festivities

This year’s Lagniappe in downtown Rochester takes place November 29 from 6-9 p.m.

Visitors will see horse drawn carriage rides, Santa, carolers,  the Holiday Shop located at 335 Main Street and Kicks for a Charity which is a shoe drive to benefit the Rochester Area Neighborhood House.  Bring a pair of new shoes of any size to donate.

Lagniappe also kicks off the Big Bright Light Show which is where  the entire downtown Rochester is illuminated.  The opening ceremony is at 6:45 p.m. November 29.  By 7 p.m. the entire downtown will be fully lit.  The Big Bright Light Show will run every night from Nov. 29 to Jan 2 from 6 p.m. until midnight.

December 3-5

The Kris Kringle Market is Dec. 3-5 on West Fourth Street, between Main Street and Walnut.  It’s set up like an European marketplace, hosting over 40 booths and runs 6-9 p.m. Dec. 3, noon to 9 p.m. Dec. 4 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 5.

Friday and Saturday, Santa will be there to greet the children and there will be a wood burning fireplace wher kids can roast marshmallows and make s’mores.

The annual Lantern Parade will also be taking place on December 4.  Children can make a lantern on Friday and Saturday and the parade takes place at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 4.
