Fall Metropark Events: October 22,23 and 24

Halloween Camping Weekend

Pack your best Halloween decorations and costumes for the Halloween Camping Weekend, Friday, October 22 to Sunday, October 24 at Stony Creek Metropark, near Rochester/Washington Township.

The park offers a rustic camping weekend with a Halloween twist, including pumpkin carving and a party for kids.  Campers can vote for their favorite themed campsite, too.
The campground will be located in a grass field adjacent to the Baypoint Beach parking lot, a short walking distance to Baypoint Beach.  A community bonfire will be lit each night, and pumpkins will be for sale to decorate. “Naturally it’s Halloween,” a kids’ Halloween party, will be held Saturday from noon to 2 pm at the Nature Center.  Campers can wear their favorite costume for an afternoon of games and crafts, plus learn about and see some of the holiday’s spookiest live owls and slithery snakes.
Rustic campsites can be reserved for a $40 weekend fee, which includes entry into the park along with admission to the Halloween party at the Nature Center. Campers will have 24-hour access to restrooms and water at the beach bathhouse. Tents, campers and motorhomes are allowed.  No hookups (water or electricity) will be available at the campsites.  Raised firepits or grills are allowed; groundfires are not permitted. Check-in time starts at noon on Friday; checkout is by 6 pm Sunday.

Preregistration with a full nonrefundable payment is required.  Stony Creek Metropark is located near Rochester/Washington Township.  For more information, contact Stony Creek Metropark at 1-800-477-7756 or 586-781-4242.
