My family and I recently had the opportunity to try a couple of Freschetta Frozen Pizzas.  I usually try to have at least one frozen pizza or a pizza crust on hand for nights when we have to be somewhere and our prep time is limited, but I admit we haven’t sampled a Freschetta in a very long time- if ever!

We opted for the new Freschetta FlatBread with Ultra Thin Crispy Crust, and since our local grocery story only had one flavor in stock at the time- Zesty Italian Style- we also tried the Pepperoni Duo PizzAmore.

My girls generally enjoy this type of pizza- convenience pizza.  But I usually don’t.  My general conclusion is that all frozen pizzas taste the same- bad.  There is always some element that is disappointing compared with a pie from one of our local restaurants.  So I was extremely surprised, or perhaps shocked is a better word, to find that I really liked both of these pizzas.

We cooked the PizzAmore first, because the girls are simple pizza eaters and pepperoni is favored over everything else.  Even before I popped it in the oven, the PizzAmore looked pretty darn good!

It also smelled great while baking, something I don’t think has ever happened while making a frozen pizza.  I’m guessing it’s all the seasonings Freschetta rolls in the fresh bread crust.

I cut the PizzAmore in quarters and despite what looks like a burnt crust, it was utterly devine.  The girls loved it.  My husband loved it.  I loved it!  It had excellent taste and was very filling.

We cooked up the FlatBread next even though we were quite full.  It cooked quickly, thin crust does that.

The Freschetta FlatBread was also amazing!  My husband folded his slice in half and with a full mouth told me, “This is good pizza.”  At least I’m 99.9% sure that’s what he said.

The thin crust was the perfect venue to bring all the zesty Italian flavors together.   The crust is subtle, so if you or your kids aren’t a fan of thick crust, and most kids leave the crust behind anyway, it’s almost crust-less.  It was a great treat.

We will definitely migrate towards Freschetta again when buying our frozen pizzas to have on hand.  We were very surprised by the great taste and texture.  It was an excellent dinner.

I was provided with coupons for two free Freschetta pizzas.  The opinions expressed in this post are mine and mine alone.  I was not influenced at any time by any one.
