Oakland County Waterparks set to open for the 2010 season

Red Oaks and Waterford Oaks water parks in Oakland County are set to open for the 2010 season.

“The water parks are fun for all ages,” Katie Stavale, parks supervisor, said. “Both water parks have a really high energy, which makes them ideal locations for summer fun.”

Red Oaks Waterpark in Madison Heights opens will open May 29.  The hours are 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.  A discounted entry of $5 per person is available May 29 – 31. 

At Red Oaks Waterpark, kids can enjoy the Soak Station, a water playground with 68 different features and a Spray and Play area that is ideal for toddlers. The water park also has the River Ride, Triple Turn Water Slide and Terrific Tides wave pool.  

Waterford Oaks Waterpark in Waterford opens June 11.  Its hours are 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Waterford Oaks Waterpark includes a tropical-theme wave pool, water slide and wave-action pool. The Big Bucket is a water playground for children with more than 30 interactive features, including a giant tipping bucket, waterfalls and sprays. The Ragin’ Rapids raft ride is also available.

Red Oaks Waterpark is located at 1455 East 13 Mile Road in Madison Heights.

Waterford Oaks Waterpark is located at 1702 Scott Lake Road in Waterford.

On Aug. 3, 2010, Oakland County voters will be asked to vote on the renewal of a 10-year millage of .2415 for the purpose of operating, maintaining, improving and acquiring parks and recreation areas and facilities in Oakland County.
