My girls got some great gifts this year for Christmas.  I have deemed it, “The year of the doll” because most of their gifts were dolls or were doll related.  They got the Disney Princess Sparkle baby dolls, at least 5 Barbie dolls each, one got a stroller and the list goes on.

I did a great job of finding the best shopping deals out there this holiday season and I think that was key in staying within the budget I set for each girl.

I went full throttle for Black Friday.  I followed My BFDeals, I found the Black Friday ads online and printed the pages with the items I was looking for and I shopped at Toys R Us at midnight freezing and tired to get the best deals on the toys my daughters asked for.  Then after Thanksgiving, but before Christmas, I kept my eyes on the Sunday ads to compare shopping prices and actually found a toy I had purchased at Target $5 less at Meijer.  I was so excited for that savings!

For 2010, I think I’ll keep my eyes peeled for a great deal on a freezer.  Then I can stock up on chicken, steak and other frozen foods when the grocery stores are having great deals.

It’s all about spending less on quality merchandise for 2010!

It was definitely the year of the doll for us too. Disney Princesses and Barbie run my house. We are keeping an eye out for freezers too.
