Where the Wild Things Are was originally a children’s book written back in 1963 by Maurice Sendak.  It is about a boy named Max who was sent to his room, by his mother,  without supper as punishment for misbehaving. Max goes on an adventure encountering many different creatures along the way.

The children’s classic has been made into a feature film and is being released October 16, 2009.
