Tomorrow were off to North Carolina so my daughter can be filmed for a TV show called “Raggs,” the  hit public television preschool series.

About a month ago I came across a contest where you send in  a video of your child answering random questions and the whole premise was to get their personality flowing on video.  Well, my daughter has the best personality ever, so says everyone that meets her, so I thought I’d enter her into the contest and see what happened.

What do you think happened?  Well, after one take I downloaded the video and entered her in the contest.  A few weeks later we got an email and a letter stating that she was one of the 100 children, selected from over 1,000 video submissions that parents uploaded to Raggs.com or mailed in during the month long contest in June,  they chose to fly out to North Carolina to film for the PBS TV show “Raggs.”

I was excited, she was excited and everyone around us is excited.  Tomorrow we fly out, they pick us up at the airport and drive us to a hotel, we spend the night, we get up early the next day and are driven to the recording studio.  They film Hailey and then they drive us to the airport and put us back on a plane to head home.  Sounds like a whirl wind of a trip for me, but I plan on taking lots of pictures to document this experience.

Hailey will “chat with the cat” on set and on camera at the studios of the local PBS station, WTVI. One of the most popular segments in Raggs is a “talk show style” chat where kids are interviewed by the wisecracking pet cat from the series, Dumpster. They discuss a variety of topics that ultimately contribute to the overarching theme of each episode.

The “Raggs” episodes featuring contest winners will begin airing as part of Season 3 which will be released in February 2010.

Hopefully this isn’t the last time Hailey is on film because like I said, she has the best personality and loves being in the spotlight… she’s a natural!
