We love to walk to downtown Rochester and Saturday couldn’t have been a more perfect day!  The weather was amazing, the fragrance of flowers and fresh cut grass permeated the air and there was a sight breeze.

Our first stop was Beyond Juice.  After having one of their Greek salads two weeks ago, I’ve had a craving for the salad every day since.  It is huge and oh so good!  My husband and girls got smoothies which they also enjoyed.  We left refreshed and full!

We then walked down Main St. towards University.  Most of the stores downtown were already closed because it was already 6 p.m., but the sun was still shining and it felt like it was 2 in the afternoon.  Green Baby was open, so we went in and looked around.  Their inventory has gotten much better since the last time I went in, which was shortly after they opened their doors.  There were so many things I wanted to get, but we just celebrated my daughter’s birthday, so I’ll have to wait a bit to spend for no reason.  I was really impressed with their inventory!

After Green Baby we headed home and then later headed to our weekly trip to Target.  I’d like to say that the Rochester Hills Target, by far, has the best customer service that I have ever experienced at any Target thus far.  I have gone to Targets from California to Long Island, New York and have had consistent great customer service at this Target.  The employees that walk past actually give eye contact to the guests.  I said to my husband, “I can’t find the Capri Suns,” and one of the employees heard me and told me which isle to find the juice drinks on.  I couldn’t believe that the employee went out of his way like that because usually, when I’m at a Target, employees dare to make eye contact or even lend a hand in helping a customer find anything.  I’d go as far to say that most Target employees don’t know where to find anything, especially if the item you are looking for is not in ‘their’ department.  More than once I’ve asked a random employee where something is located at the Rochester Hills Target and they have taken me across the store or gave me multiple places to search for the item.  Great job Rochester Hills Target!  You are a rare gem!zoo water tower

Sunday we hit the Detroit Zoo.  We had a great time because again, the weather was spectacular!  This Zoo is HUGE and very spread out.  Most families had their Step 2 or Radio Flyer wagons, which I highly recommend if you have 2 or more kids.  We just brought our stroller for the 6 month old and the older girls got pretty tired because like I said… the Zoo is HUGE.  The dinosaur exhibit is pretty cool too!  The dinosaurs moved, made noises and some even spit water.  The kids loved it and I got some great pictures!

Over all… excellent weekend!
