Remember Shrinky Dinks? (video review)

I remember Shrinky Dinks from when I was a kid, so when I was at the toy store Froggy’s in downtown Rochester and saw the beloved toy of my childhood, I had to get one for my girls.
My daughter picked out the Mermaid and Sea Creatures Shrinky Dinks. They are so cute. I let the girls take turns choosing the Shrinky Dinks they wanted, so they each got the equal amount. Then, I set them up and they got busy coloring their choices. When they were don, I pre-heated the oven and once heated each set went in for about 3 minutes.
Then they were done.
The girls thought they were so cool and it was a fun craft for them to enjoy while mom checked her email!
Check out the video:
If you are looking for unique toys, check out Froggy’s in downtown Rochester, MI.

Disclosure: I was given Shrinky Dinks for review from Froggy’s Toy Shop. All opinions are my own and are not influenced by anyone or anything.

Beat the summer heat by heading over to the Rochester Hills Museum for Wet and Wild Wednesdays (last year it was known as Fun Fridays)!
Every Wednesday in July starting July 7, 2010 the Rochester Hills Museum sets up a 100 ft slip and slide and the fire department brings their truck and hose and sprays everyone who dares to run under the falling water. The kids can also wade in Stoney Creek, but after I saw a snake in there last year, you won’t see my kiddos in there!
The event runs from 12 noon- 2 pm and is $2/person attending. If you are a member of the museum, admission is free.
What to bring:
- a blanket to sit on
- towels
- snacks/lunch (there are no concession stands)
- drinks
- sunscreen
- swimsuits
- water shoes or sandals
