Courtney Velasquez is the ultimate, multitasking mom!  She runs Detroit Mommies, Miami Mommies and the soon-to-launch Exploring Arkansas, works full time for Collective Bias as the Community Director of Social Fabric and has 3 girls under 9 years old.

Courtney started blogging in 2008.  After moving from California to Metro Detroit in 2009, she saw a need for a place that moms and dads all over Detroit could go to discover events happening in and around Detroit. She launched Miami Mommies to meet the same need in 2011 for moms and dads in southern Florida.

When she’s not in front of a computer or mobile phone, Courtney enjoys running, traveling and exploring the culture and community of her new home in Northwest Arkansas.

Rebecca Thomas is a web content manager by day and mommy to two little princesses by night. She also does freelance writing and web content consultation in her free time.

Rebecca has a degree in journalism, but has never had a real job in newspapers. Instead, she has been working on websites and content since she graduated in 2010 and loves working in the education environment.

Rebecca likes to write about things she enjoys, including camping, kids and technology. She blogs about nursing babies at The Nursing Mommy and also Unexpected Smiles, where she tries to find the happy things in life and share them with everyone.

As a Spanish teacher with a Master’s degree in Bilingual Education, Jennifer has lived and taught in Spain, Mexico, Ecuador, and Texas.   She and her husband are dedicated to raising their children in a bilingual household, and forming the Bilingual Fun Company was a natural fit to their lifestyle.  Her company has been featured in Redbook Magazine, Family Circle, Good Morning America, ABC News, Fox News, and Entrepreneur.com.  Also, The Bilingual Fun Company has produced an award winning DVD series called Spanish for Children which has made its way to the shelves of Borders Bookstores.  The interactive language classes are available throughout Metro Detroit and a licensing program is in the works to be launched nationwide.

Jennifer enjoys doing product reviews for kid related products, attending family friendly events, volunteering and community service, and being involved with the Detroit Mommies team!

Christina is a homeschool mom, working full time as a social media project manager and virtual assistant.  She began her homeschool journey over 11 years ago and hasn’t looked back since.

Christina and her family moved to Detroit from Florida in 2004, to be closer to her mother, step-father and grandmother.  Since then, she has become actively involved in the homeschool community, both online and off.  Remembering well the questions and struggles she had as a new homeschooler, she launched the site HomeschoolingInDetroit to help other local homeschool moms find events, groups and resources and help connect other homeschool families.

When not working or homeschooling, she staying busy cooking, knitting, shopping, and writing about her life’s adventures on her personal blog.

Kathy is a life long Michigan resident.  She lives with her husband and son in Oakland County.  She is a graduate of Central Michigan University and had a career in banking prior to having her son.  She is now exploring career opportunities now that her son is going to school full time.

Traveling is a family hobby – annual road trips to visit family in Texas are always fun as are trips to the western and central parts of Michigan.  Volunteering in her son’s classroom, helping with the school science fair and yearbook, selling stuff on Ebay, the paint creek trail and finding ways to make and save money are things she enjoys doing.
