Rottermond Jewelers, a family-owned shop located in downtown Milford and Brighton are selling watches for a great cause – our oceans.

The shop has teamed up with the Ocean Conservancy, a national organization dedicated to helping protect our oceans, to sell “Ocean” watches for $24.95, with 40 percent of proceeds being donated. The watch is available in small and large dial sizes and in 16 colors.

“The Ocean Conservancy is a wonderful organization to partner with,” said Cindi Rottermond, owner of Rottermond Jewelers. “Not only are customers thrilled with the variety of colors available, but they feel compelled to give back at such a critical time for our oceans.”

More than $3,300 has been raised already during the promotion, however, it’s Rottermond’s goal to reach $10,000 by Oct. 16, when the promotion ends.

To purchase an Ocean watch, visit Rottermond Jewelers at 351 N. Main St. in Milford or 102 E. Main St. in Brighton. Customers can also place orders online at www.shop.rottermond.com.

Need a Last Minute Gift Idea for Dad: Marshalls Gift Card

Dad always needs something!  He’s always the one that gets neglected in the wardrobe department, not because we don’t like to shop for him, but because he doesn’t like to shop for himself.  If he needs something, he goes to the store, grabs what he needs and then heads to the register, without so much as a glance toward anything else…he wants to get in and out and move on with his day.

Us moms on the other hand… if we actually get the opportunity to go shopping sans kids, we stay out as long as possible and relish the opportunity.  Am I right on this one ladies?

Marshall’s sent me $50 in gift cards to go pick up my husband a few things for Father’s Day.  I decided to pick my husband up some new “tighty whities” and give him one of the $25 gift card to go pick something out for himself.  I did it this way because I was having the darndest time finding something for him, so 3 hours later, decided that if I give him the gift card, he could go choose a nice shirt or a pair of shorts in a week or so when they got some new designer duds in.  I guess I was so stressed about finding him that “perfect” piece of clothing, that I couldn’t find anything…argh!

So, if you haven’t gotten Dad anything yet, go grab a nice card (or a pack of undies) and a gift card from Marshall’s and make him happy this Father’s Day!

Disclosure: $50 in Marshall’s gift cards were given to me for review.  The opinions expressed in this post are mine and mine alone and are not influenced in any way by anyone.

Win Dad a Watch From Timex for Father’s Day

Is Dad the athletic type?  Does he go out for a daily run only to push himself to run a little faster or a little further?  Or, is Dad the type that likes the sporty look?  Either way, the Ironman Sleek 150 Lap with TapScreen technology is the perfect gift for Dad.

The collection’s revolutionary TapScreen function allows walkers, runners and joggers to easily take laps by “tapping” anywhere on the timepiece’s face, rather than having to locate and push buttons while on the move. Athletes can set the _target time pacer_ and receive distinct audible alerts that indicate if they are on pace, slow or fast, and by how much. The watch’s _16 interval timers _are labeled with intuitive names such as _warm, slow, med, fast _and _cool_, making complex interval workouts automatic and effortless. The removal of buttons on the watch face makes for an exceptionally modern, clean look.

  • NDIGLO Night-Light with Night-Mode

Father’s Day Gift Ideas: For the Outdoorsy Dad

Does dad love to spend time outdoors?  Here are some great Father’s Day finds for the outdoorsy dad:

Tilley sent me a hat to check out called the Organic Cotton Airflo.  It’s made of a soft sueded organic cotton and a breathable mesh.  The mesh is suppose to keep the warm air out and the cool air in.  Kinda like an air conditioner for you head!  The hats are also guaranteed for life and if Fido gets to the hat and tries it out as a chew toy or dad accidentally leaves his hat behind, Tilley will replace the hat at half off the catalog price.

Also, the hat floats, repels rain, ties on, won’t shrink (it’s machine washable!), has a secret pocket, blocks UVA/UVB radiation and has a sweat band!  Talk about a great hat!  $77 at Tilley.com.
A beach chair from the Cape Cod Beach Chair Company with dad’s initials embroidered on the chair would make a wonderful Father’s Day gift!  $140

Most men love jerky, especially the outdoorsy types!  Why not give dad a bouquet of jerky for Father’s Day!  One dozen sticks of beef jerky bundles up like a bouquet of flowers, $35.

Disclosure: A hat from Tilley was sent to me for review.  All opinions are mine and mine alone.
