Fire and Ice The Thinker 2013

 

This fun annual event starts today!  They have been working on the sledding hill all week to get it ready for the event – when you don’t have snow you just make some!

 

When      Friday, January 25 – Sunday, January 27th

 

Where     Downtown Rochester

 

Each year the Oakland County Parks, the City of Rochester and downtown Rochester come together to host the Fire & Ice Festival, a winter festival in downtown Rochester. Admission to the event is free.   The events include fireworks, taste fest, tube sledding, snow shoeing and cross country skiing, dog sled rides, ice skating, broom ball exhibition, and ice sculptures.

In addition, there will be fire pits to warm y ou up and Porta-Johns will be available. Friday, January 25, 6:00 – 9:00 pm Saturday, January 26, 10:00 am – 9:00 pm Sunday, January 27, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

This is just superb! We rarely see ice sculptures here in the Philippines, but that’s perhaps due to the weather (it averages 30C on a ‘cool day’) 😛
