The LEGO KidsFest Countdown Is On!

There is just one week left before the LEGO Kidsfest descends on the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. I’ve heard tickets are going fast, and that there is now limited ticket availability for Saturday sessions.  You can get your tickets today by visiting www.LEGOkidsfest.com.

The giant hands-on traveling expo will be packed with plenty of family fun and will cover three acres of space!!  My son and many of his friends are really excited about the event.

I honor of the event I thought it would be fun to share some fun LEGO facts with you:

8 More than 400 billion LEGO® bricks have been produced since 1949.

8 The LEGO® minifigure represents the world’s largest population of people! Over 4 billion minifigures have been produced in the last 30 years. This is almost 12 times the population of the United States!

8 LEGO® minifigures are out of this world, literally. The 2 Mars Rovers have an image of the LEGO® minifigure etched into their front grill.

8 Approximately 7 LEGO® sets are sold each second.

8 There are about 62 LEGO® bricks for every one of the world’s 6 billion inhabitants.

8 Laid end to end, the number of LEGO® bricks sold in a year would reach more than 5 times around the world.

8 There are 915 million ways to combine six eight-stud LEGO® bricks.

8 Children around the world spend 5 billion hours a year playing with LEGO® bricks.

8 With a production of about 306 million tires produced a year, the LEGO® group is the largest producer of tires in the world.

8 LEGO® is the contraction of two Danish words, “leg godt” which means “play well”.

8 There are about 62 LEGO® bricks for every one of the world’s 6 billion inhabitants.

8 19 billion LEGO® elements are produced every year. 2.16 million LEGO® elements are molded every hour, or 36,000 per minute.

That sure is a lot of LEGO’s! My son absolutely loves playing with his LEGO’s and always has one of the new sets on his Christmas wish list.  I think it’s wonderful that they have introduced a line of LEGOs for girls too.

Disclosure:  We will be attending the LEGO KidsFest with complimentary tickets.  All views and opinions are my own.
