School has been back in session for nearly a month now and the newness of the first day of school has diminished. We thought it would be fun to invite some of the neighborhood kids over for a Gutzy Gear Party to let the kids have a little fun decorating their backpacks after school. Gutzy Gear makes a line of Velcro straps that fit around your child’s backpack straps, and decorative badges that you stick to the straps. There is a HUGE selection of the cute badges for boys and girls to choose. The package of two straps retails for approximately $10.00 and a two pack of the badges retails for $5.00-$6.00.
Gutzy Gear generously provided the straps and badges for the party. When the box arrived I went through the contents and was really pleased with the quality and the look of the straps and the badges. I knew the kids were going to love them. The badges were adorable; cell phones, cupcakes, gumball machines, dragons, puppies, footballs, monsters, monkeys, flowers – just to name a few!
Most of the girls we invited to the party knew what Gutzy Gear was – the boys, like me, were clueless. Both the boys and girls really liked the badges. The kids had a riot playing a few games outside; then we handed out the party bags with the badges and straps and the fun really started. The kids quickly got busy putting the straps on their backpacks and decorating them with the badges. It’s super easy to put the straps on and then to attach the badges – no sewing or anything, you just press them and they stick. Take a look at how proud they were of their new creations!
The next day the kids marched off to school with their “tricked out” backpacks – they went in four different directions; two different elementary schools, one preschool and one middle school. The little trend-setters reported back that they received a lot of compliments and questions on where they got them.
I think it’s a great way for the kids to individualize their backpacks and the price is right too! One of the moms thought that they would make great stocking stuffers – she’s right, they would!
