BlogHer 2011 Recap

This year marks my third year attending  BlogHer and this year I would say was the year of the no stops, all or nothing parties!  I attend quite a few events over the BlogHer weekend which was in sunny San Diego, CA this year and there were three parties that blew me away, a restaurant opening I got to attend.  I will describe them in their order of awesomeness and intimacy/size.

The first party I really enjoyed was a very small and inmate party put on by my company, Collective Bias, for The UPS Store which is a client of ours.  The party was at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront on the third floor at the UPS Store location.  When I had heard we were going to have the party at the store, honestly, I was a little nervous because of past experience I know that UPS Stores located inside of hotels are not as big as the one’s in strip malls, but it couldn’t have been at a better location.

I was really excited that I was able to go to the Sweet Suite party at the Hard Rock right before The UPS Store party and bring back all of the goodies, pack them in a box and ship them home.  It was really convenient!  Then I was able to relax, enjoy some good food and good company.  All of The UPS Store ambassadors were at the party and it was nice to meet them in an intimate setting.

The same night I was invited by Dawn and Elizabeth from Party Bluprints to the grand opening of Burlap, which is a new restaurant that Brian Malarkey (Top Chef and owner of Searsucker) in Del Mar.  The place was packed with beautiful people and the food samplings were awesome.  It was nice to be able to get away from the hustle and bustle of BlogHer and enjoy conversation with Dawn, Elizabeth, Tonya and Brent.

On Friday, I started my day taking the Sears Style fashion bloggers (Erika, Jennifer and Ellen)out shopping in a white stretch limo.  They had a blast and so did I,  shopping for dresses to wear to the Cheap Sally Dance Party that night.  I bought a dress, caplet, shoes and jewelry all for about $60!  I couldn’t believe it and I got tons of compliments that night!

The next day was the day of the Cheap Sally Party that was being put on by Collective Bias, Cheap Sally, Sears Style, PartyBluPrints, Kmart Gordon Ramsey, Smarties, Udi’s, Lifetime Moms and more!  The party was amazing!  Three levels, great food, great drinks, rooftop, cabanas, awesome people and awesome brands.  Brian Malarkey was in attendance doing private interviews and Cheap Sally announced their Bring Home the Bacon contest which launches September 1.

It was a whirlwind of a weekend to say the least!
