Being a mom is one of the toughest jobs on the planet!  It’s almost like being a secret service agent for the President, but instead of protecting the President of the United States, you are protecting your offspring, some of the most precious little human beings in your life.

Until you have become a mom, you never understand what moms go through in a day, week or a lifetime.  You gain a new appreciation for your mom and realize how truly magnificent she really was or is.  You look back and remember those “Magnificent Mom Moments” and those are the moments that will remain in your memory and put a smile on your face.

I’m not an expert by any means when it comes to being a mom and all I can hope for is that I do my best for my girls.  I hope that I  love them enough, teach them enough and care for them and protect enough.  And, when I have one of those “I just kicked booty as a mom” moments, I hope that I’m not the only one that notices.

*This post was inspired by Ziploc, check out their ideas and recipes for quick and easy ways to get more out of the things you do for your family every day. They want to hear from YOU so visit them on Facebook and share your own magnificent moments with them.

My mother is an all around magnificent mom! She raised both my sister and I as a single mom, working to support us and getting us everything we needed or wanted. She has been there whenever I needed her and is my only true best friend.

My Mom has to be the best ever! After all, she put up with all of us for 18+ years! She worked so we could do a lot of things we wanted, yet instilled in us a healthy respect for money. We were all given the choice of going to college, but she was proud of those of us who didn’t. She trusted us to make the right decisions and we usually did. And now she’s the best Grandmother ever!

My magnificent mom moment was when I dropped my son off for his first day of kindergarten and held back my tears. I knew if he saw me crying he wouldn’t want me to leave him and he’d be scared. egoettner@yahoo.com

my mom is the Magnificent Mom…for one reason…I was about 5 years old and we were riding a two wheel bike…she kept telling me NOT to put my foot in the spokes of the bike but I wanted to find out what would happen if i did…well i did put my foot in the spokes and my dad didn’t want to take me to the hospital so, my Mom stated up with me all right and nurse me through the pain and all! She never yelled at me for it. She just asked if I hd learned my lesson and yes I had

My Magnificent Mom Moment is that I have been successfully teaching my 3 year old how to independently drink from a cup. My son is special needs, so this is no easy task. All though he is not independent yet, he is holding his cup and drinking from it it with some assistance. I’m making sure that his teacher and his grandma and his daddy all have him hold his own cup, so we are all on the same page so that he can learn to do it independently. After this, we will work on using a spoon to feed himself independently. It is such a wonderfully rewarding feeling to know that my son is learning all that he can.

My mother is magnificent – My dad was an abusive alcoholic. He was very stingy with money, so my mom actually would make crafts and then sell them at craft shows to get spending money. She would then use that money on Christmas gifts or school clothes for us. She eventually got a divorce but endured that 20 year marriage before doing so. She is the strongest woman I know.

When I was pregnant with my youngest son my mother took leave from her job to come take care of my older son. He was 2 at the time and was a real handful. She cooked, cleaned and kept the household going while I was on bedrest. She is a magnificent mom!

My mom took leave from her job when I was pregnant with my second child to come take care of my older child because I was on bedrest. She is such a wonderful mother and I wouldn’t trade her for the world!

I was in the second grade and I forgot about my craft project…I remembered it just before going to bed before school started the next day. I was very miserable, my Mom told me that I should go to bed and not be worried about it. The next morning I woke up and there next to me was the most pretty cloth doll that my Mom made! That is just one of the magnificent Mom moments in my life…I don’t think I’d have enough space to share them all! Love your blog!

My Magnificent Mom moments seem to come everyday when my little one sees me first thing in the morning and tells me that she loves me. That is not only a great moment for me but one for her as well. Also when either one of my girls are sick, have to go to the doctor and get their shots, or simply falling down in the driveway or on the sidewalk and they come to me for comfort, those are all Magnificent Mom moments. Thanks so much for hosting this giveaway!

I was extremely proud of my 10-year-old son a few weeks ago while we were riding in the car and he asked me if I’d risk my life to save someone else. I really didn’t know what to say so I said it all depended on the situation. He then said that he’d risk his life for anyone, even a stranger. This made me so proud that I have a son who thinks about others, probably even more than I do.

I’m proud of MY magnificent mom for going back to school at the age of 60 to pursue her dreams. She was magnificent for the first 60 years of her life and I can’t wait to see what the next 60 (hopefully!) years will bring!

My daughter and I participated in a mother-daughter book group last year, and one of the activities involved telling everyone what you liked best about your mom/daughter. I was really happy when my daughter said that she could talk to me about anything. 🙂
