The opening of Oakland County Parks and Recreation’s third dog park is now Tuesday, July 6, due to a construction delay.

Located in Madison Heights, Red Oaks Dog Park will offer more than five acres of fenced area for dogs to run off- leash; a picnic shelter; and a 60-space paved parking lot.

A Grand Opening Celebration is set for Saturday, July 24 from 8-11 a.m.

The Red Oaks Dog Park is located at 31353 Dequindre Road in Madison Heights, adjacent to Red Oaks Waterpark.

A 2010 Annual Vehicle Permit or daily pass is required for the dog park. Passes can be purchased at the Red Oaks Golf Course pro shop during the golf season, located at 29600 John R Road in Madison Heights. Passes can also be purchased at the city of Madison Heights offices, located at 300 West Thirteen Mile Road in Madison Heights.
