If You Have Small Children: Time Shares Are the Way to Go!

Hawaiin Sunset at Ko Olina Beach Club

I’m in serious need of a vacation! I need a real vacation with sand, surf, alcoholic smoothies, sunsets to die for and lush tropical plants.

I need a trip to Hawaii.

The last “real” vacation we took was to Oahu, Hawaii in October of 2006. At the time, our oldest was 3 and our youngest was 4 months. We were living in California, so the flight was only 5 1/2 to 6 hours long. The baby slept while the 3 year old watched cartoons the entire flight…talk about a smooth ride!

We stayed at the Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club and the resort style time share was amazing! We would have been happy stuck in the resort the entire vacation, but because it was Hawaii, we did want to explore some things the resort did not have like, snorkeling, sea turtles and jungle excursions.

The Marriott Ko Onlina Beach Club was beyond perfect!

Luaus in the evenings with complimentary Mai Tai’s while viewing breathtaking sunsets, a beach side bar where you could eat a leisurely meal and relax while breathing in the fresh fragrant air and lagoons that made you feel you were on your own private tropical island.

Also, the pools were perfect for little ones. My oldest daughter was scared of going into the ocean, so she played in the pool side sand where the pool and sand met. I was able to sit on a lounge chair right next to her and relax while she played. It felt like we were beside the actual ocean, just a little calmer and just as relaxing.

When we had arrived on the island, after dropping our bags off at the resort, we went to the grocery store. One thing that is great about staying in a time share is that you have a lot of space and you have a kitchen and dining area where you can prepare meals. This is especially nice when you have children with you on vacation because for one, they are always snacking, so this makes it easy to make nutritious snacks and meals for them plus, it’s a great way to save money because eating out can take a toll on the wallet! We’ve decided that from now on, this is the only way we’re going to travel. My husband has even started looking at Holiday homes for sale Yorkshire so that we can have a countryside retreat and the kids can explore nature at its best.

I’m having a serious craving for a return visit to Hawaii, but next time I think we’ll try another Marriott time share on the island of Maui. We love having a Marriott time share because we always have an amazing time wherever we go and quite frankly the Marriott beds are the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in!
