Labor Day Weekend Races Sept. 5 in Downtown Milford

Attention runners, walkers, joggers, bikers and kids! Gear up for the one of Oakland County’s premier events – the 9th annual Labor Day 30K, Saturday, Sept. 5 in downtown Milford.

The event will start and finish at Bakers of Milford, located at 2025 S. Milford Road, two miles north of I-96. Registration will be from 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.

This scenic event will take participants through historic downtown Milford, Highland Recreational Park and Proud Lake State Park, incorporating both paved and dirt roads.

Proceeds from the race will benefit the Milford High School track & cross country team, National Down Syndrome Society, Alzheimer’s Association and Community Sharing.

Race categories include:

  • 30K run or mountain bike race
  • 10K run or fun walk
  • ½ mile fun run for kids

Race times/registration fees:
7:30 a.m. –  30K Cycle Cross or Mountain Bike ($30)

8 a.m. – 30K race ($38)
8:30 a.m. – 10K Run ($30)
8:35 a.m. – 10K Walk ($30)
11:15 a.m. – ½ mile fun run for kids ($10)

“Super Enabled” wheeler and handcyclists:
7:30am for the 30K;  8:10 a.m. for the 10K

More than $2,000 in money, medals and prizes will be awarded to the top female and male runners in the 10K and 30K. All participants will also receive a racing shirt.

Additional activities will include:

  • Pre and post-race sports massages
  • A sports and fitness expo on Friday and Saturday
  • Post-race food, drinks and live entertainment
