Thrive Festival, now in it’s 2nd year, is taking place at Founders Park in Farmington Hills on August 20-23.

The festival combines music, a carnival and the ever popular Kids Day.

While the music is free, you do need some money to go on the carnival rides, play the games and of course, fill yourself up on the food!

60 different bands are slated to perform, encompassing the wide musical spectrum from bluegrass to punk.  The main stage is at Founders Park while the secondary stage is at the Riley Skate Park, which is where the bands that would attract the younger set are due to perform.

But, it’s not just the music that is happening.  Every day highlights different attractions from magicians to petting zoos; skateboarding competitions to Texas Hold ‘Em and Blackjack competitions.  With so many things in between.

You can visit the website at http://www.thrivefest.com to get a more comprehensive look into this festival, it’s scheduled daily events and times and ride coupons.

A true staycation!  See, there are fun things to do when you live in the Suburbs!!
