Win Tickets to Gershwin Galore at Meadow Brook Music Festival

As the calendar marches toward summer, music fans can anticipate warm summer evenings spent wrapped in serenade by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) and its guest artists during Summer Nights at Meadow Brook Music Festival on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester Hills.  Gershwin Galore featuring pianist Jeffrey Siegel on Sunday, July 26 at 7:30 p.m.

July 26, Slatkin and Siegel will feature a tribute to American composer George Gershwin in Gershwin Galore.  The evening’s concert features a wide array of the composer’s many styles including Lullaby for Strings, Rhapsody in Blue, Second Rhapsody and Porgy and Bess, Symphonic Picture.

The distinguished American pianist Jeffrey Siegel has been a soloist with the world’s great orchestras. Abroad, these include the Berlin Philharmonic, London Symphony, Philharmonic and Philharmonia, Moscow State Symphony, Bayerischer Rundfunk, The Hague Residentie Orkest, Oslo Philharmonic, Stockholm Philharmonic, Orchestra of La Scala and NHK Symphony of Japan.  In the United States, engagements include the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Cleveland Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra and Chicago Symphony Orchestra.  Siegel has collaborated with many of the pre-eminent conductors of our time including Claudio Abbado, Pierre Boulez, Charles Dutoit, Neeme Järvi, James Levine, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Leonard Slatkin, Michael Tilson Thomas and David Zinman, as well as legendary maestros of the past, including Eugene Ormandy, Sir George Solti, William Steinberg, Klaus Tennstedt and Yevgeny Svetlanov.
